IRVINE, California / July 20 - At just 17 years old, Cooper Lutkenhaus has already rewritten what is possible in the 800 meters. In March 2026, he won the world indoor title in Torun, Poland, becoming the youngest man ever to win a senior individual world championship. Then, in June, he defeated Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi at the Oslo Diamond League with a time of 1:42.08 - a world under-18 record and the fastest time in the world this year. After a very hard race, Cooper finished second for the first time this year, at the Prefontaine Classic in July. He's eager to regain the top step at Outdoor nationals, and comes out of Prefontaine with a lot of motivation.

In a new film from COROS, Cooper's incredible drive and competitive edge are on full display. Part of the FEARLESS series, this new film builds on the first film, which featured Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Where Jakob is at the height of his career, the new film shows viewers Cooper's experience as he's starting to access his full potential.

"Pre didn't go how I wanted, but I've said it before: if 1:44 is my bad day, I'll take it. It just gives me something to work on heading into nationals. I think that's kind of what the film is about. Showing up, learning from each race, and going back to work," said Cooper.

The film follows Cooper during a crucial part of his build in the 2026 outdoor season, capturing the doubt, pressure, and scrutiny that come with being labeled a generational talent while still finishing high school. It is a portrait of what "fearless" means before the medals: choosing to show up, race the best in the world, and risk failing. Cooper's season will culminate at the USA Championships in New York City on Sunday, July 26th, where he will look to improve on his runner-up finish from 2025.

Cooper will race the first round of the 800m at US Outdoor Nationals 800m on Friday, July 24, at 7:02 PM EDT, and streaming is available here. The Championship Final is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 4:33 PM EDT, and will be available for streaming on Peacock. Complete information on the meet is available here.

The COROS FEARLESS series includes the FEARLESS edition PACE 4, which captures the spirit of COROS' athletes.
